2009: A Year of Transformation

My transformation starts with my new blog banner. I love it! Each picture is a reflection of a part of me: the sunrise - the dawn of a new day, my journey along life's road, the beach that I love, Royal Albert Old Country Roses (my favorite china pattern), the beauty of a field of wildflowers and a photo of my bedroom dresser. I feel good when I see all of these pictures.

Today I sat in Barnes and Noble and read The Artful Blogger. It was wonderful! They say that your banner is what makes your blog and I've never had a banner so that is my first transformation. I joined Weight Watchers on Wednesday - my second transformation. I'm nervous about that one as it is probably the 3rd or 4th time I've joined, if that tells you anything.

I have learned so much from other bloggers recently. I have learned that I want to express myself more artistically. I love the blog "Mind Wide Open" which I found through Heirlooms and Joy to the Blog. My heart races when I see the posts on these blogs. I've also learned so much from Sherri's Reading Jubilee. There is a challenge that excites me - "Read Your Own Books". I need to go through the books I own and read those I've been holding on to, but haven't read. Probably a goal of 20 books is unrealistic, but that's what I'm going to shoot for.

I am sitting in my dining room right now, listening to Norah Jones, scattered candles burning throughout the house, my windchimes heralding me sweetly. I feel very peaceful and content and that is a wonderful way to start 2009 - my year of transformation. This year's journey will be significant - not that they all are not. I envision positive change this year and I am off to a good start.

I know what you mean about having all the things you love around you, honey! I do like the new banner and yes, it makes a difference when it signifies "YOU"! That's why mine is what it is and I doubt I'll ever change it. I see many bloggers changing theirs repeatedly but I like mine just the way it is - personal for me. Smooches to your girl,
Connie

Joyce,
Best of luck with Weight Watchers. I lost 15 pounds last year as a member at work. I know I am a tall gal, but those pounds didn't belong... Just remember, a cup of delicious fruit is only 1 point!

Joyce ~

~ your new banner is
bee-YOU-tee-ful!

~ Way to go on joining WW! I've joined several times in the past but I've been doing it "on my own" for awhile now. Lost 40 pounds over the past year or so and now I've begun the challenge to lose the "last" 20. You can do it! I really believe it's the program that makes the most sense.

~ I'm going to scoot over and check out the reading blog you mentioned ~ the reading challenge looks intriguing!

~ Your last paragraph really set a lovely, serene scene.

I LOVE your new banner. I've been wanting to do something different with mine but can't seem to figure out what. Now you're motivating me again.

I do love your header now. Sometimes it take another point of view to get us moving in a direction we've always wanted but were afraid to challenge.

I never give myself unrealistic challenges, but once in awhile I do have to go outside the box.

There are so many bloggers out there it's unbelievable at times. When I visit sites sometimes I see blogs I've never heard of before. I have a long list of sites I like to visit for different reasons.

2009 will bring changes, and some are what we never expect.

Happy New Year to you and your family

I'm so happy to hear your New Year is starting off wonderful!

I'm thinking of joining Weight Watchers too. Right now I'm just doing my own plan with counting calories but I feel like I really need more structure and I like being weighed in by someone. Makes it harder to mess up and get away with it. LOL

Good for you for joining right off the bat.

This is the year we WILL DO IT!
Hugs
Joanne

I love your new layout..it's beautiful. I have to ask Rachel to show me how to do that.. I am so bored with the layouts they give you. This blog really shows off who you are...I love it!
