Enjoying Life

On Saturday I had the superb opportunity to take a class offered by Cheryl Mezzetti, a designer for Creative Imaginations. The class was an absolute blast. Cheryl came from Boston to my local scrapbooking store, "Everything Scrapbook and Stamps" to teach three classes before heading up to Orlando for a family vacation. The class I took was entitled, "The Great Escape". Here is my completed photo book.

There are many more pages just waiting for photo's and embellishments. Cheryl did a great job of making the class easy and interesting and the finished product was just magnificent. I hope to have the opportunity once again to be inspired by Cheryl's creativity. I'm amazed at her thought process and the time she spent covering every detail to make this a rewarding experience for all.

If I didn't have enough creativity in the morning, I worked diligently on perfecting an acceptable tussie mussie in the evening. I'm in a tussie mussie swap and had to resort to making my own as I didn't order online early enough and can't find any locally. My oh my did I find this to be quite the challenge. Once I got the hang of it, I made several - I think I'm up to ten now!! Thank goodness for Google! I found a great tutorial and discovered a fun new blog also, "My Little Piece of That Azure Sky".

I'm looking forward to embellishing them. That will be the fun part. I have lots of ribbons and laces, some great images, beads, pearls and flowers. Can't wait to show you the finished product after I foof them up. Foof? Is that a word? Hope you had a great weekend also!

Thursday in Miami

Spent Thursday in Miami. What a great day!! First stop was Dash, the Kardashian's store.

It's such a cute store. Of course, we can barely afford anything in there, but did come away with a cute little candle, Rhubarb Pear, which smells luscious.

And was packaged nicely too.

We couldn't leave without taking advantage of a wonderful photo opportunity. As our dear blogging friend, Glenda, commented on my Facebook page . . . "I'm sure one of their butts sat in that exact chair!!" How true!!
The beach was next on the list. How beautiful is this? The color of the water was just breathtaking!
I sat for awhile in the little park area by the beach and read Somerset Life while enjoying the cool breezes. The view was spectacular to my left . . .

and spectacular to my right . . .

We then did some shopping on Lincoln Road, a beautiful shopping district with tons of stores and more sidewalk cafes than you could imagine.
There was a store with a very interesting decor. I couldn't resist snapping this shot of a wall of old Singer sewing machines. They told me there were 262 machines on display. Isn't this unique?
This is my favorite . . .
Here is the wall behind the cash registers. I loved the window in the midst of it all.

We left the house at 8:30am and returned home at 10:30pm. It was a superb day, filled with many happy memories. And now I must go rest my weary bones. Miami was a blast. Can't wait to go again!!
