Vermont

My brother lives in Vermont. I have not been able to visit him yet, but hope to before this year is out. He loves the mountains. He loves solitude. He loves cold weather and snow. He sent me this picture today. He took this of his house at 9am this morning.

How peaceful and serene. I miss cozy winter days when you were stuck inside because you couldn't get to work. It was such fun to make yummy things to eat and you always felt so safe and sound. My brother told me that he doesn't mind the snow one bit. He probably has at least 15 inches of snow, if not more. He said he loves to sit by the fire and watch the snow fall. My brother always wanted to live in no mans land. I am happy that he is living his dream.

As for me, I'll have to find a way to manage here.

Very gorgeous photos, Joyce. I can see where my husband would love your brother's house also. My son would love it, too. But .... um.... 15 inches of snow? I'm not all that excited about shoveling snow anymore. It is beautiful though.

I love your ocean scene. That is totally breath taking.

Wow that is alot of snow your brother has!! I love his log house all nestled in the snow-it would make a great painting! I also love your ocean scene and truthfully I've lived with snow like your brother has and I find your ocean scene more appealing right now! Thanks for sharing Joyce and have a great day!

I miss the snow...I know you love the mountains also, I love the peacfulness of it.I really want to take a trip to the mountains, maybe the Blue Ridge....but then again the picture you had of the ocean was just as nice..

That house is a lovely picture, and I wouldn't mind an evening in a place like that--around a fireplace with a good book.

It's the digging out to go somewhere, the driving on slippery roads, and the effort to stay warm that would be difficult for me. That's why my home is now somewhere snow shovels are not needed. I can visit snow.

I don't think I'd be happy living in all that snow, but it IS beautiful and I'm glad he enjoys life there.
