My New Car!!!!!!! Ugh!!!!!

I am so angry at myself!!!!!!! On Tuesday evening, I came home after work and pulled into my parking spot. Sounds simple, right? I needed to go to the mall with my daughter, Rachel, to purchase a birthday gift for our very dear friend. So, I'm sitting in the car waiting for Rachel and my nephew, Kyle, to come out. While I was waiting, I thought I'd go pick up my mail, which I did, and then got back in my car. A few moments later Kyle and Rachel came out and both hopped into the car. Still sounds simple, right? Sooooooooo, I backed out of my parking space - how fast does a car possibly go when backing out of a space, I ask????? All of a sudden, what do my wondering ears hear, but a little bump. Hmmmm. What could that be??? Ahhhh. It was garbage day and there were still some garbage pails scattered around the neighborhood and silly me forgot (yes, in the moment it took to get from the mailbox to my car!!) Well, I didn't think anything of it because the garbage pail looked fine to me so we drove off to the mall. We went to Nordstrom's and bought the most beautiful pair of Juicy Couture earrings for dear Whitney, who turned 18 yesterday. Yeah!!! So we leave the mall after probably only a half hour there because I just went for the earrings and needed to get home for dinner. We walk out to my car and I practically cried when I saw my back bumper. Is this what happens when one silly woman gently hits a garbage pail????? What on earth would happen if I really crashed into something???? Needless to say, I am so very sad. I only got my beautiful little VW Jetta in September and now it has an ugly dent. Do you believe this???? Neither do I!!!!

Theresa from Take a Sentimental Journey had a little fender bender this week also, so my heart goes out to her because I know exactly how she feels.

This really did start out to be a great week. I bought a beautiful lace runner from Rhondi at Rose Colored Glasses, which arrived on Tuesday. It is just beautiful and I can't wait to show you what I've done with it. I also bought the most beautiful piece from Marshall's which is a creamy color with pink flowers and green accents - for a fantastic price of $5.00!!!! It looks just beautiful on the lace runner, but I'm still wallowing in my misery and too aggravated to take a picture of it yet. I do think you will just love it, though.

Anyway, I must pull myself up out of the miserable hole I am in - after all, it is just a car - though it will cost lots of unfound treasures to fix, treasures that were just waiting somewhere for me, if you know what I mean. Thanks for listening to me moan. I feel better now! :)

Jewels by Joyce

Thought I would share some of the jewelry I made last night. My friend, Hope, and I started beading last summer and worked our little fingers to the bone this past holiday season making something special for many of the people on our respective shopping lists. I really wish I had taken some pictures of the things I made at that time because many were very pretty. I love using the Swarovski crystals and pearls. I made a beautiful pearl necklace with pearls graduated in size in chocolate, taupe and cream with smokey topaz crystals between each pearl. That necklace was just stunning. It was my favorite piece. I'll have to make another one to show you. I made a few bracelets which I've shared below. It is such a fun, relaxing hobby. I actually dont' know what I like more - shopping for the supplies, or making the jewels!!!
I don't know if you can see these well enough, but I just wanted to give you somewhat of an idea of what I made last night. I'm hoping when you click on these pictures, you can get a better view. It was fun and I think the people I've made these for will enjoy them. Thanks for visiting. See you all soon!! Hope you had a great weekend. I know I did!! Now off to another week of work! Happy blogging!!!

Fun Saturday Finds

We had a great day looking for treasures. I found a couple of really neat things. On Friday night, I went to the closing of A.C. Moore, a craft store which just opened by me. It's such a shame that the beautiful store only survived two months! I am very sad to see it close, but enjoyed looking for bargains. I bought a couple of really nice candles. My favorite is "sage and cinnamon". What a beautiful fragrance!!! I was so excited to find this needlepoint kit. I've never done needlepoint. I'm more into the counted cross stitch samplers. I just fell in love with this needlepoint kit, though, and had to get it. The regular price was $42, but most things were 40% off, so I scooped it up for the great price of $25!!! Isn't it beautiful?? I just hope I do it because I'm usually good at buying a challenging project and then not doing it so I can't do that this time. So, what do you think? Isn't it gorgeous??

In one of my past posts, I wrote about how I just love runners. I can never have enough runners. I have about ten of them and I love finding new and different ones. Well, today we went to the Goodwill store in the elite town of Palm Beach. They had so many very pretty things there and I was so excited to find the runner pictured below. I love anything with roses, so I just had to have this at the great price of $10!!! Isn't this a fantastic find???

Next I found a very pretty milk glass vase also at the Goodwill store in Palm Beach. It's probably about six or seven inches tall and in perfect condition. This little vase was only $7!!!

And for my last good find of the day, below is a very pretty wood sconce that I found at Faith Farm for $2!!!!! I may paint it, I may not. I'm not sure.

It was so much fun scouting for treasures today. I think I picked up some nice things at great prices. After our shopping excursion, we took a ride along A1A with the beautiful, crystal clear blue ocean on one side and the interesting array of "quaint" homes on the other, including Mar-A-Lago, Donald Trump's little getaway. I just love that ride along the water! I had a great day and now I am going to do some beading. I will show you what I create tonight in tomorrow's post. I haven't done any beading in several weeks so I'm really looking forward to relaxing and letting my creative juices flow. Hope you all had a great day! Later on tonight I shall catch up with all of my favorite blogs to see what you chose to share of yourself today. I always love that!!! You are all so inspiring to me and I thank you!!

Thankful Thursday

I love Rhondi's Thankful Thursday's. It is wonderful to make a point of giving thanks for a particular something every day, but Rhondi makes a special point of encouraging us to be specific each Thursday. This is a little sign that hangs on a wall in my living room. This picture turned out strange and it was too difficult for me to fix, so please excuse the quality. This is another sign hanging in my living room. I guess I like these thankful signs.

Tom and I celebrated 25 years yesterday. He surprised me at work with this picture in the lovely silver frame, red roses and a beautiful bracelet which you will see below. Time flies when you're busy living. Thank you Rhondi for your Thankful Thursday's.

Recent Finds

I have been so inspired by the numerous blogs I've been reading that I am setting a goal for myself of posting on a more regular basis. I often wonder if what I think I want to say would be interesting to others that may happen upon my blog. Would they want to return? I've come to the conclusion that I enjoy so many blogs with whatever is posted that I might as well just go for it. Hopefully someone will enjoy and want to come back. So, here I go.

I love table runners. I have numerous table runners. I think this weekend I will "play house" and dress up my table with some of the different runners I have and accessorize my table accordingly. I shall start with my newest runner below. I just purchased this at TJ Maxx this past weekend at a bargain price of $7.99. I added a beautiful bone china tea pot that my mother brought me back from Bermuda many, many years ago. At the time I wasn't thrilled with the color, but we all change with time and I now just love it. This is just a sample picture. I will dress things up this weekend and share with you then. What do you think?

I also bought a very pretty watering can that is also yellow.

And I'd just like to share a picture of my daughter, Rachel, and the new bike we bought. We've been having lots of fun with it and Rachel just loves it.

Also just want to share that I am so excited as my baby sister is moving from Tennessee to the house next door to me TOMORROW and I am so excited I could just burst!!! We have not lived this close to each other since we were kids at home and that was a couple of decades ago!! I am looking forward to having her so close. I only wish my older sister lived on the other side of me! Now wouldn't that be a blast!!!!!
