Collaged

As I travel on my journey, I become aware of new and exciting things that I am eager to try. My most recent exploration is in artistry. I have found so many interesting artistic blogs and have read numerous books about collage, altered art and mixed media. I've never really considered myself an artistic person, though I've always had a remarkable interest in crafts. Are crafts different than art? I'm sure not. I have always thought of myself as a writer. I am often sought out to word things for others, write a letter for this one, a speech for that one. I guess it could go hand-in-hand, writing and art, writing as an art.

I've opened a new door. Below is my first attempt at collage. I kinda like it. I know I truly loved making it and I'm enjoying looking at it. And now I'm sharing it with you.

The image on the left was for the February Mind Wide Open challenge, but I was too chicken to submit it. The collage on the right I made last night standing at my kitchen counter. It was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to doing more. It is so liberating to find another thing that I love to do. My list gets longer and longer.

I've been wanting to do some collage sheets/books but have been too chicken and "ignorant" on how to do them, honey. Maybe I should just take the "leap" and DO IT!!

Tell Rachel I think she's gorgeous and miss her comments.

Connie

How creative you are! They're lovely!

I know this is going to sound ignorant, but I've never done them so I wonder...are they on books, like photo albums or scrapbooks? Or do you frame them?

These came out beautiful and you should have submitted that one to Mind Wide Open. Next time. I have been an artist forever, but I prefer crafting. I just like the way crafters want to share their work and techniques and encourage us all to create.
