What Kind of Camera Do You Use?

I want to buy a new digital camera. I am so amazed at some of the pictures people post on their blogs and I want to have beautiful pictures too. I currently use a Kodak EasyShare camera. I probably bought it about , umm, maybe four years ago?? Well, it's ancient now, right? I've been looking at different cameras and think I've decided which one to get based on ease of use, speed, optical zoom and, of course, price. I think this is the one I want.

My friend, GratitudeGal, just got a new camera for her birthday and that inspired me to do some research to find one best for my needs. Hers is very nice, but more than I can spend right now.

What kind of camera do you use? Do you recommend it, or do you have a good suggestion? There are so many out there and I'm just not into figuring out all the technical stuff. I want to turn it on and shoot. I want it to fit in my pocket or purse and not be too cumbersome. I want it to take beautiful pictures of whatever my heart desires. And I don't want it to break the bank. Comments welcome!!

I have a Canon Rebel XSi and I love it but it cost me an arm and a leg. I bought mine through QVC on easy pay so I was able to spread the payments over 4 months.

Joyce-
I am looking also, the one I have for some reason is not holding pictures anymore, it use to hold at least 50 or so pictures and now
I have to delete so I can use it, it only holds about 10 or so. I like the one your showing, did you here if its good? I want to shop around because I really don't have the money but maybe my daughter will get me one for Christmas? Who knows

I use an Olympus FE-280 8 megapixles. It takes nice pictures, but I would like to get a better one.

Hi Joyce,
I would love to have the CanonRebel that Cindy has. Her photos are so super. It's expensive about 800-900. I have a Canon sure shot...I think. Nothing fancy. If I took a class I think I could get better photos. I don't know all the features it has or how to do anything other than take a photo and download it on the computer...I really need to learn more about it.

Hi Joyce, I don't know about the Nikon camera you pictured (haven't looked into it), but I bought a Canon Powershot A720 IS earlier this year. Canon is known as having some of the best lens on the market, the online reviews were great, and a photographer lecturer I know was very impressed when I showed her some of my photos. Happy hunting and shooting. :-)

I have a Canon, too and like it very much. I don't remember what model exactly. It's the 3SIS or something like that. It's a little bigger though.

I have a Canon also! I don't think you'll go wrong with any kind of Canon.

Hi Joyce :)

That's the camera I had before Rich bought mine. It served me well for 4 years, so I think it's perfect for point and shoot.

hugs,
rue

Joyce,
I love the camera you are thinking about. It is small and you can keep it in your purse. At any time when I remember, I take mine out and USE it! Much different than dragging along a camera bag...
I hope your choice goes on sale soon!

I have a Canon also - (I used to have an old 35mm Canon that I loved), but I went with the Powershot SX100IS - it is not a 35 mm, and has 8 megapixels, but I have seen WONDERFUL pictures with cameras with only 3 mp..... but what I wanted was a better optical zoom than 3X. It seemed like things were always too far away, and the camera I bought has a 10X zoom lens on it. I LOVE it!!! it is a wee bit bigger than the little cameras, but not huge, and only cost $250.00, rather than some of the high end cameras. Anyway - that is my two cents worth!
