I planted a gardenia bush a while ago. I imagine it didn't like where I planted it. It's still hanging on, but it does not look too prosperous. I'm trying to give it lots of tender loving care to hopefully make up for any indescretions I may have unknowingly bestowed upon it, um, like its place in this world, so we'll see what happens.
Impatient and eager for the beautiful aroma of gardenia's, I bought another bush and kept it in a pot on my patio. Today I was blessed with a beautiful, fragrant, creamy white gardenia. It is gorgeous and I love it!
There are about six additional buds just waiting their turn. If I can keep my thumb green enough, my gardenia will flourish. Mary, Mary, quite contrary. How does your garden grow?
Pretty in pink.
Pretty at night.
A pretty place to chill at the end of the day.
Well, okay, I guess I have to spread the mulch and powerwash, but tomorrow's another day . . .

Same here - planted a gardenia bush about 2 or 3 years ago and nothing yet, but hubs says there are some buds on it now (I'm having trouble believing they are really buds!) so maybe we'll get that delicious smell soon. He put something our local nursery said to put on it so hoping that helps, sweetpea! I'm so excited for you because I'll be ecstatic when it happens here.
Smooches for Rachel,

The bush is lovely, especially with its beautiful blossom. You have a pretty yard indeed. I could definitely relax in one of those chairs and enjoy the evening!
You'll have to check out my post titled "Gardenia Envy." I go through it every year. Now, you won't!

I love gardenias too! In NJ I didn't have any luck with gardenias but here in NC they bloom so nicely for me. I also have a dwarf gardenia shrub in my courtyard! It is just lovely and smells wonderful!
My neighbor has the whole side of her house lined with gardenia bushes and I'm so envious. She puts coffee grounds on the ground every morning and they do great.
