Today is Thankful Thursday and I am thankful for the peace I feel when I do the things I love, such as baking yummy things that make the whole house smell and feel warm and cozy. I love to read books that inspire me and books that take me to faraway places and books that motivate me to do things better or smarter or more efficiently or that encourage me to do nothing at all. I love to create. I get such pleasure out of making jewelry, painting odds and ends, cross stitching, scrapbooking and organizing the special things I love. I love to look through old pictures that bring me back to days gone by. I love that feeling of peace I get when I do the things I love and I am thankful that I am able to take the time to bring this peace to my life.
Be sure to take a moment to stop by Rhondi's blog to see other posts from Thankful Thursday participants.

funny you mentioned old pics, I got to thinking about old pics the other day and I can't remember where a big buch of mine are! Now I am about to panic! I can't for the life of me remember what I did with them. I love to look at old pics too.
Joyce, it is so true that doing the things you love bring peace! I think it is interesting that we enjoy many pastimes in common, reading, cross-stitch, scrapbooking, baking! A house filled with a fresh-baked scent is just heavenly...
Have a wonderful Thursday, Chris
hello Joyce, i am thankful for the same things.
And know what? I have something brewing, it has to do with books! Come visit.
I adore old photographs, too. I have quite a few from my mother's family and love them all.
You have a really pretty blog.
love, bj
If we lived close we'd be great friends. You like the things I do, sweet chickee! Plus I could be Rachel's surrogate grandma!! LOL
Smooches,
Connie
Thankful Thursday, what a lovely idea. It is so good to sit down and realize all we have to be grateful for, when the news is so full of unpleasantness. Thank you.
Reading your post (while listening to the music here) made ME feel peaceful after an overly busy day … so thanks for sharing. This is just what I needed this afternoon. Maybe I’ll think about joining Thankful Thursday at Sacred Ruminations next week.
Hugs and blessings,
Isn't it amazing how peaceful it feels to do what you really love? Over the years, my focus has shifted to home, and now I find myself quite content to stay home and "nest".
I'm happy you had a nice thankful Thursday. All the loving and peaceful things you wrote about are those things I enjoy also. We need to take some time to think, reflect and be thankful.
Thank you for sharing.
Have a wonderful rest of the evening.
Judi
