I've not been a good blogger this past week. Can't believe I haven't posted since last Thankful Thursday, but my day would certainly be missing something if I did not share my thankful thoughts today.
I am the type of person that is always doing something, always going somewhere, always involved in this or that. Now that I am getting older than dirt, I'm getting tired of always being on the go and I want to slow down. Many of you know that it is hard to teach an "old dog" new tricks. Even with all that I do, or maybe because of all that I do, I tend to neglect some of the things that I really should do.
While this is not part of my everday routine . . .
I am proud of myself today and thankful to my sister, Lisa, for encouraging me to get out with her last night and walk, walk, walk.
We brought my daughter, Rachel, to her soccer practice and then set out walking around the whole perimeter of Village Park at a decent rate of pace. It took us about 35 minutes to walk the path around the park. I had such a nice time doing that because there were so many youth teams practicing football, soccer and hockey. It was so nice to see so many people brought together, involved in such great activities. We passed many along the way, everyone pleasant and happy to be where they were. Lisa and I really enjoyed sharing that time together in such a productive way.
I read that a consistent 21 days of any activity creates a habit, so I am going to try my best to get into the habit of walking. It will not only inspire me to get into a more healthy lifestyle, but it will give me time for me, whether I share that time with my sister, or use it to let my mind wander to the happenings of the day or hopes and dreams for the future. And while I may start with baby steps . . .
It is our journey, not always the destination, that makes us who we are. Happy Thankful Thursday one and all and thank you to Rhondi at www.rhondisrosecoloredclasses.blogspot.com for encouraging us to express our thankfulness.
May we always leave our footprints on the sand . . .

My get up and go, done got up and went ! LOL
Have a great day love !
That is something I always want to do but you have to "Get up" and make yourself do it but once your there it feels so good to walk and be out in the fresh air at night, especially when the fall air is starting to come around.
Joyce, keep it up. I walk/run at the park when I don't make it to the gym. I really don't like running but I love the way I feel when I am done. We were there last night, as well, for a baseball game. Hopefully we will run into each other (not literally) next time we are there.
Love, Cheryl
Thanks for your visit today.....and yes I forgot it is the Home of the Girl Scout....We were on a tour and went by the home of the founder....It was very interesting and a fun trip....Your GS will have a fabulous time in Savannah.....and so will you!!!! My husband and I just loved it....
Oh I so need to get my rear end out there and walking. I used to walk a lot with my cousin but then we stopped when it got to hot and have not started up again. Good for you for getting out there.

I so need to walk but have been doing water aerobic.
I will come by often.
It's always nice to slow down once in a while and stop to smell the roses. You're on the right path. Keep walking.
Hi Joyce,
Just found your blog tonight through Rhondi's blog. I really enjoyed reading your other post.
I have a hard time being faithful to walking also. One would think that something so good for you would be easy to do.I am trying to be more faithful, so good luck to you.
Blessings,
Sue
I love the Bible Verse at the top of your sidebar … it’s a wonderful and timely reminder for us all. Congratulations for getting yourself out there and walking like this … I’ve been trying to get myself in the routine again too.
Hugs and blessings,
What a great post! I have actually started walking too now that the weather is getting so nice! That is a great time for you and Lisa to bond! Have a great weekend and see you next weekend!! Sending all my love down to Wellyworld!!<3
Hi Joyce!
That's what I keep trying to tell myself... baby steps! Every little bit counts!
I loved your post, it is the journey. If we are too focused on the destination we miss the most important thing, LIFE!
I've tagged you! It's an easy one! But if you don't have time I understand!
Hugs, Sherry
I am thankful for everyday I wake up after not being able to go to sleep right away, it always amazes me that your body always knows.
And for my remaining family and friends.
Ciao
Good morning Joyce :)
Good for you! I really need to start exercising myself, but don't hold me to it ;)
